About the project

It is vital during total hip replacement surgery that the implant hardware is aligned correctly to limit the possibility of later complications. Every patient has a unique pelvic motion and Optimized Ortho developed dynamic modelling technology which provides pre-surgical information on the patient’s predicted biomechanics.

Optimized Ortho engaged Park Industrial to enable the second stage of their implant positioning system. We created surgical guides uniquely shaped to match the pelvis of each patient that were derived from X-ray and CT scan data. These guides are then fabricated from the latest 3D printing techniques using biocompatible materials.

Park Industrial developed an automated system of guide design that was created using Python scripts and the Solidworks API. This helped to realise the commercial viability of the technology.

About the project

In March 2012 James Cameron descended to full ocean depth (10,908m) in a single occupant submersible vehicle that was largely designed and built in a small factory in Leichhardt, Sydney.

Park Industrial contracted to Acheron Project and liaised with Cameron daily to realise the design and fabrication the launch and recovery system. Park Industrial was also involved in designing the 3D cameras mounted at the end of the sub’s boom arm which captured footage for the feature length documentary made about the mission.

The project brought together an extraordinary group of people in an unlikely circumstance with an ambitious goal.

"The cradle and hangar performed flawlessly for us. Both were exactly the right solutions." - James Cameron; Hollywood Director, Explorer.

About the project

Design detailing for extensive sheet metal work of the Passenger Emergency Help Points, Crew Intercom and Guard Door Control Panels of the Waratah Sydney trains.

Hardware was extremely ruggedized and publicly accessible units needed to be clear and easy to understand while being as vandal proof as possible.

Production drawings were produced within a strict quality management and version control system.
